Day 10 of 365 - weekly digest and a prayer
Each Sunday I'll link to all the posts from the prior week and then offer a prayer. I know keeping up with a daily blog can be a bit much, so this weekly summary is hopefully a way for folks to stay in touch with this journey we are taking together, but on a weekly, instead of daily basis. Either way, I am grateful we are journeying together :)
Monday, February 26th - Day 4 of 365 - whatβs the plan for this year ahead? - since we are just getting started I explained what the plan and goals/hopes are for this daily blog.
Tuesday, February 27th - Day 5 of 365 - every journey has a first step - Tuesday started a short series of posts where we explored and reflected on our realizations about the existence of LGBTQ people in the world.
Wednesday, February 28th - Day 6 of 365 - the first time judgement appeared - sadly, for many of us, the realization of the existence of LGBTQ people was accompanied by judgement of some kind.
Thursday, March 1st - Day 7 of 365 - when did God first have an opinion? - and for some, maybe many, that sense of judgement came from what we were taught about the Bible.
Friday, March 2nd - Day 8 of 365 - the moment a full stop (period) turns into a question mark - and then, and some point, our hearts and minds changed and we stopped judging and started affirming and celebrating LGBTQ people.
Saturday, March 3rd - Day 9 of 365 - sharing Bishop Ough's sermon/story - the suggested action for today (Sunday) was to share with others in your congregation the sermon Bishop Ough gave at the Council of Bishops in Dallas this past week.
And now, here is a prayer for this Sunday, let us pray...
Loving God, thank you that you do not leave us where you found us. Thank you for the patience and love you extend to us always. Thank you for your patience as we, sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly, finally come to see each other, as you have always seen us, as beloved. Keep us seeking always to extend the love we have received. In Christ's name. Amen.
