Day 12 of 365 - getting brave - find a friend

Thanks so much to those of you who asked to join our new online community the Inclusive Thoughts - Road to General Conference 2019 secret Facebook group yesterday. I’m looking forward to welcoming more people, if you’d like to be part of the group please send me an email and I'll add you. While it’s helpful to have an online community, it’s also really important to find community locally - it’s much easier to get brave when we have someone else to be brave with.

This passage in Ecclesiastes 4:12 is often used to refer to marriage but I think it can refer to friendship too.

A threefold cord is not quickly broken.

When we feel isolated or afraid, having another person who can encourage us, who can spur us on to do the things we know we want to do, and provide some accountability can be a huge help.

Action: Who else do you know in your congregation who is having inclusive thoughts? Make a plan to meet them for coffee. When you meet, see if you can each think of one other person who might also be interested in joining your conversation. That would make four of you!

Extra credit: Get each of the four of you to join our Facebook group :)
