Day 14 of 365 - getting brave - preparing your story

This might sounds like a little overkill for some of you, in which case, feel free to skip today. For some of us however, there is a deal of fear attached to the idea of talking with a new person about our hopes for an inclusive UMC. That is why taking some time to prepare and practice our stories is a really good idea. Earlier in the life of this thus far short-lived blog we spent a few days reflecting on our journey to becoming affirming of LGBTQ people - you can revisit those posts, here, here, here and here (in that order 😃). It is likely that the things you reflected on will provide the seeds for your story or at least part of it.

Action: Take some time to consider what the story is that you want to tell to the other people in your church. Maybe even write it out. Maybe practice telling it to a friend. All this is to help us leap the final hurdle of fear, and eventually speak to a new person about our hopes for an inclusive UMC.
